Where is Bagdad, Arizona? Bagdad is a copper mining community located in north western Yavapai county, Arizona. We are one of only two remaining “company towns” in Arizona. The population of the area is about 2500. Although strange to most visitors, the town name “Bagdad” is shared with at least 10 other towns in the US. At an altitude of about 3500 feet we have a four season climate with warm summers and mild winters. Bagdad is an excellent destination for a day trip or as a nice stop to refuel, we have two gas stations that cover all grades of unleaded fuel and ultra low sulfur diesel fuel. Tip - the Conoco station has the only diesel and it is debit or credit only. We are about 100 miles from the Valley of the Sun, 65 miles from Prescott and 200 miles from Las Vegas. Wildlife is abundant in the areas around Bagdad and there are some great back-country trips minutes from town. For more Bagdad information try these pages.
